A patient who suffered a stroke in May 2025 shares her initial observations immediately following Perispinal Etanercept (PSE) treatment, as well as her progress at a one-week follow-up evaluation.
The video documents real-time assessments and patient-reported changes across motor strength, sensory return, pain reduction, walking endurance, and cognition.
Patient-Reported Changes Featured in This Video
- Sensory Restoration & Stroke Pain Relief: Before treatment, the patient experienced severe numbness and painful “knife-like” sensations in her left leg, thigh, and foot. At her one-week follow-up, she reports that the numbness on her left side is almost completely gone and her pain score dropped to zero.
- Grip Strength & Arm Range of Motion: Following the initial injection, the patient demonstrated immediate gains in left-hand grip strength and increased arm elevation with less muscle resistance and tightness.
- Walking Endurance & Reduced Fatigue: Prior to treatment, short distances caused severe fatigue. Post-treatment, both the patient and her companion noted her ability to walk farther without feeling drained, along with a more natural gait.
- Taste Perception & Visual Clarity: The patient reports a noticeable improvement in taste perception shortly after the injection, as well as clearer visual focus.
- Cognitive Focus & Mood: At the one-week evaluation, the patient and her family highlight improvements in mental clarity, spatial attention, and a return of her natural wit, humor, and personality.

When did you have your stroke? May 9th, 2025. You also have another neurological condition as well. Uh cerebral palsy. What kind of difficulties did the stroke cause for you? Balance. Really bad. Really bad balance. And as you can see, I lost my left arm and it made everything more tight. Okay. Especially in the shoulder area. This it wasn’t like this before. Even with the CP, everything feels heavy. Like my my left leg, left arm feels heavy, which makes walking difficult. There is numbness and when I’m moving in the thigh, a little bit of tingliness. It’s hard to explain. Kind of like knives. Foot is numb. My foot is numb completely. and the thigh is numb. Okay. What would you rate your pain at on a scale from 1 to 10? Probably like a four. Okay. Yeah. I don’t know if this is normal. I can’t even function during the day. A whole lot of fatigue. Oh, let’s say you asked me to walk 20 ft back and forth in the room. That would be like a marathon for me. I’m so tired and then I can’t stay awake all day. Yeah,
you know I could barely do that. You’re doing it actually. The more you keep doing it, it looks like it’s a little bit more movement. I can tell. Okay. I couldn’t do that. It was more of a struggle.
Yeah. Taste is better. Yeah. Taste is better. I can tell there’s a difference in the ta the tasting and stuff and everything. There’s a difference in everything. But I’m curious to see in like a few more minutes. Mhm. Yeah. Just squeeze.
Oh my god. How much better was that? It was two to five. Oh my god. I’m strong. So my left hand has improved.
See?
It does feel like it’s moving more. My even my OT is going to be impressed. She’s going, “Damn, you can almost get your arm all the way up.” That’s what she’s going to say. There’s not as much resistance when I do like this. So, I had a lot of tightness. Yeah. So, it has improved the the left side has improved the cost. I’m 100% sure I know that this treatment will help someone like me. I know that
this is the most walking I’ve done in a long time cuz she usually gets very tired very fast. Yeah, I don’t feel tired. Like before I felt when I just walked down the hallway, it was more fatiguing. Yeah, I was is on I don’t feel as tired. Did you feel the pain in your leg or the discomfort? Um, not so not as much. No. Okay. It’s Yeah, it’s improved my stroke side, that’s for sure. And it’s it’s helping my CP my foot. How are things looking? Is there anything that’s different? Yeah, it’s it’s probably a little bit clearer. Five, three, four, five. See, I don’t have lapsid neglecting. I just wanted to ask that because every It’s truly what this drug is for. People like me, not just stroke, but you have someone with CP and stroke. If if you can help someone like me, then that’s why you’re doing it. If you can change my life, you’re going to change everybody life.
You had your first dose of perspinal tannercept one week ago. What have you noticed since then? Uh the numbness is almost completely gone on the left side. Like I have more uh like mental clarity. I’m more like aware. I notice things that she does doesn’t notice like as far as attention and stuff goes. So I’m not so like how has the pain or discomfort been throughout the week? It’s it’s improving day by day. Not too much discomfort and not not really like when they did the pain thing today. It’s like zero cuz it’s not really there. Like in a couple of more days it’ll be it’ll be 100%. Because the whole side is feeling good. She’s really interested to get back to go to PT. Yeah, PT will really show me what what has improved. Um and uh before the injection, my stroke side foot was completely numb. It’s not anymore. I lost my muchness with the stroke and the shot bring brought back my muchness. It brought back my how who I was before. I’m more jokey and stuff like before the stroke I was very funny and very witty fast wit person and the stro has sort of brought that back. So it’s brought back my muchness and that’s the biggest probably the biggest improvement besides the numbness. I’m happy with the results of the first injection especially for someone like me. It’s going to help me a lot.
