A patient who suffered two strokes in April 2025 shares his pre-treatment baseline and describes the physical and cognitive changes he experienced immediately following Perispinal Etanercept (PSE) treatment.
Patient-Reported Changes Featured in This Video
- Fine Motor Control & Tremors: Prior to treatment, the patient noted severe tremors in his right hand that interfered with detail work and typing. Following treatment, he demonstrated improved fine motor function and decreased tremor activity, successfully taking off and putting on his shoe independently.
- Restoration of Sensory Feedback: The patient previously reported numbness on his right side, preventing him from feeling keypresses on a keyboard or noticing cuts. Post-treatment, he reports enhanced tactile sensation in his fingers and right foot.
- Speech Fluidity & Volume: Family members and the patient note an immediate shift in communication—moving from quiet, slow, and hesitant speech to a faster, louder, and more fluid speaking tone with less word-finding struggle.
- Gait Stability & Foot Alignment: The patient notes improved control while walking, observing that his right foot points straight forward rather than turning outward or dragging.
- Cognitive Clarity: The patient reports a reduction in post-stroke “brain fog,” describing his thought process as clearer and feeling more lucid.

Tell us about your stroke. When was it? First one was uh April uh 20th of 2025 and the next uh bigger one was on uh April 21st, 2025. How much can you do with your right hand and your right arm? Well, I can move it. I can move it. Uh uh uh apparently uh well, it’s got the tremors. bad bad tremors. And if I try to do any detail like that, it’ll uh it just goes haywire. I seem to get like cuts and stuff like that. Uh when I don’t know it uh and uh my right side, but but you have numbness on the right side. Wicked wicked numbness. can’t if I’m trying to uh type on the uh keyboard, I can’t feel the pressure I’m putting on a key to make it depress. You know, I can walk, but a little bit of uh foot dragging. Uh especially uh when I’m fatigued at night, I can’t keep up. Uh particularly if there’s more than a couple people with business. Uh but um uh I’ll forget uh words that I want to use. I can’t think of them. And uh so I just like spin out verbally.
Very slightly numb. I feel um [snorts] like my face is um improved. I think it’s good doing detail work. Uh before when I would uh you know uh touch my fingers there was be a a great tremor. He did it without looking at his fingers either. I think uh I think I have more feeling on my fingers right now. My speech is much better. I feel like the the brain fog is better, too. There’s no stubborn speech, right? Because I I would have to say my words slowly and um try and figure out what for was coming next, which uh I don’t seem to be doing as much. And I am speaking faster. Yeah. Which is uh wonderful. He’s louder now, too. And that’s what I was just going to say. and I would speak very quietly. So, I’m I’m feeling like um more normal. So, um I’m excited to see how much more improvement I’m going to do. My uh head definitely feels clearer, better than it has since uh I had my strokes. I feel like my my fingers I could I could could type now. Not nearly as numb as it was. And how does your walking feel? Feels wonderful. Much more normal. Do like you would like you. Yeah. That’s altogether different. Take it all the way off and put it back on.
Now put it back on. You couldn’t do that before.

That was the big thing. He spoke so Yeah. He couldn’t negotiate a narrow space like that before. My foot’s staying straight forward to Yeah. It’s not off to the side. You You definitely see a difference though, don’t you, Mike? Yeah. Even my uh my right foot is uh better.
Yeah. I think I think that it’s really amazing. I’m looking at you moving and I think you’re amazed, too. kind of blown away by uh my uh physical improvements. Yeah. Much much uh much more lucid. I can remember words some words that uh had escaped me. I’m looking forward to uh learning more of the inul English vocabulary. I’m think I’m thinking it’s going to be good. Definitely. So, uh it’s going to be all about discovery now. Discovering what I can do and not being afraid to try it. Thank you. Yeah. Completely amazing.
